Sadeem Launches Its First Project in Europe

In cooperation with Aguas de Alicante, Sadeem has deployed its wireless sensing systems in the city of Alicante in Spain in September 8,2020. This deployment is considered to be the first project of Sadeem in the European continent which aims to develop and improve Alicante city to be more resilient to climate uncertainty and natural hazards such as flooding events.

“The core of this project is the flood data; this data will be used by both the operations and R&D departments of the Water Management institution of a coastal city,” Eteban Canepa said, cofounder of Sadeem. “The outcome of this project is not only the immediate optimization of the flood mitigation but also the enhancement of flood models currently being used.”

Sadeem has installed its smart systems used for the real time sensing and monitoring of flood and traffic in order to prepare the city for natural hazards in a more efficient and effective manner. This project covers 4 critical locations experiencing water pooling and traffic jams in Alicante. By obtaining the most accurate real time data about flood and traffic collected from Sadeem’s sensors, city planners can effectively prepare the city for disasters, plan safe routs during flood events and provide public communications and warnings that keep residents safe in the face of possible flood events.

Sadeem has the privilege to serve Aguas de Alicante and contribute to the improvement of smart city resilience and the quality of life in Alicante by its smart city solutions.
